  6. A 90-day MVP: what it should include

"How much will it cost?" is the first question every founder asks us — and the honest answer is a range, not a number. After shipping 250+ products over nine years, we can at least make that range narrow and explain exactly what moves you inside it.

The short answer: typical 2026 ranges

For a professionally built MVP with a European agency in 2026, budgets typically land in three bands:

Rates explain most of the geography question: Western European and US agencies bill €90–150+/hour for the same seniority that costs €35–60/hour in Lithuania and the Baltics. That is not a quality discount — it is a cost-of-living arbitrage, and it is the main reason Nordic and DACH companies build here.

What actually drives the price

Four factors decide which band you fall into — and none of them is "number of pages".

Where teams overspend

The most expensive MVP mistake is not the hourly rate — it is building the wrong scope. The patterns we see again and again:

How AI-assisted delivery changes the math

This is the biggest pricing shift since offshore development. Our teams use AI-assisted coding, automated test generation and AI-driven research as standard practice, and the effect is roughly 40% more output per engineer compared to a traditional workflow. In budget terms: work that justified €80,000 two years ago now fits into €50,000–60,000 — or the same budget buys you a considerably more finished product.

One warning: AI acceleration amplifies seniority, it does not replace it. A junior with AI tools produces more unreviewed code, faster. A senior with AI tools produces more shippable product. When you compare agency quotes, ask who exactly reviews the output.

Fixed price or time & materials?

Fixed price sounds safer and usually is not: agencies pad it 20–30% for risk, and every change becomes a negotiation. It makes sense only when the scope is genuinely frozen. For an MVP — where the whole point is learning and adjusting — time & materials with a hard budget cap and weekly demos gives you the same cost ceiling with none of the change-request friction. That is how we run most engagements, and it is why our average client stays 3.5 years.

A 90-day MVP: what it should include

Whatever the budget, a healthy MVP engagement has the same skeleton: a discovery sprint that ends with a scoped backlog and a real quote (1–2 weeks); design of the core flows; build in weekly demo increments; and a launch that includes analytics, error monitoring and a post-launch support window — not a code handover and a goodbye. If a proposal you are comparing is missing the first or the last item, the cheap quote will not stay cheap.

If you are budgeting an MVP right now, the fastest way to get a real number is a scoped estimate against your actual feature list — send us a short description and we will return a banded quote within a few days, no discovery fee.
